Government tasked to solve Senya Beraku water problem

Omanhene of Effutu, Neenyi Ghartey VII,  has appealed to the Government to find a lasting solution to water problem in Senya Beraku and its environs to eliminate the activities of water tankers.

He suggested that treatment water headways in Winneba should be expanded to supply enough water to the communities.

Neenyi Ghartey, who is also President of Effutu Traditional Council, made the appeal when he led a group of chiefs and other traditional authorities from his area to Senya Bereku to express their condolences to the bereaved families and chiefs of the area.

Twenty-seven people mostly youth lost their lives and 27 others received various degrees of injuries when a Water Tanker ran through a group holiday revelers at Senya Bereku on December 27, 2011.

Neenyi Ghartey said water supply in that area should be made constant to stop the situation where water tanker would have to sell water to the people.

He advised the bereaved families to forget what has occurred and “give everything to the Lord for he is the one who could understand what has happened”.
