Water tanker runs through revelers

Twenty-Seven people died when a water tanker ran into a group of holiday makers dancing at a music playing spot near Bereku Castle on Tuesday.

The Effutu Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit Deputy Superintendent of Police John A. Paul told the Ghana News Agency in Winneba on Wednesday that the dead were made up of 20 males and 7 females.

He said 32 people who were injured, made up of 18 females and 14 males, are on admission at the Winneba Government Hospital.

He said the tanker driver, Iddrisu Seni, 40, claimed he lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the accident.
