Ghana-Turkey bilateral trade predicted to reach $400m end of 2011

Bilateral trade volumes between Ghana and Turkey is expected to hit $400 million by the end of 2011, an official at the Turkish Embassy in Accra has disclosed.

The Ghana News Agency reports December 20, 2011 that Ms Ipek Zeytinoglu, Second Secretary in charge of affairs at the Turkish Embassy in Ghana also indicates that the volume of trade between the two countries is expected to reach $1 billion by 2015.

The GNA cites Ms Zeytinoglu saying at the opening of the Ghana Turkish Export Products Exhibition held in Accra that “bilateral trade between Ghana and Turkey in 2009 amounted to $175 million and $290 million by the end of 2010 and the prediction for this  year 2011 indicates a bilateral trade volume of $400 million.”
