Workers urged to shun laziness, absenteeism to promote productivity

The Akyemansa District Chief Executive, Mr. Tom Budu has urged Ghanaian workers to guard against lateness, absenteeism and malingering in order to maximize productivity and help the Government to realize its growth objectives.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the district capital, Ofoase, on Friday Mr. Budu again told workers, especially those in the area to do away with all negative acts that tended to hinder productivity.

Mr Badu reminded heads of department of their leadership role and urged them to be guided by their code of ethics.

He charged them to set good examples at all times for their subordinates to emulate and also to be transparent in all their actions.

Mr Badu also urged Ofoase workers to do away with partisan politics and to serve the government of the day. He added that they should hold periodic interactions with their staff, so that there would not be any room for agitation.

He was not happy about the situation where some public and civil servants either directly or indirectly by their actions tried to undermine the government’s efforts at helping to improve the lives of the people.

The DCE assured workers in the district that since he was operating an open door administration, they should feel free to call at his office, whenever they encountered any problem at their workplaces.
