Need for OMCs to invest in innovations to maintain global standards – MD of ENGEN

Mr Henry O. Akwaboah, Managing Director of ENGEN Ghana Limited on Friday asked Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) to invest in industrial innovations to maintain global standards in the petroleum sector in the country.

“The wave of world economic integration and information explosion, coupled with Ghana’s discovery and production of petroleum product in commercial quantities, have changed the dynamics of OMC operations in the country, modernism becomes the mode of survival and growth for the enterprise,” Mr Akwaboah stated at the launch of the flagship: “ENGEN Top UP Promo,” in Accra.

He said for OMCs to survive and develop, “they must rely on substantial, high-speed and safe marketing flow, customer focused interventions, environmentally sound practices and responsible social interventions”.

The ENGEN Managing Director said the company since its establishment in 1998, with its first service stations established in Tema and Accra in 1999, had penetrated into the country with innovative business and customer focused services.

Mr Akwaboah said ENGEN, a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), would continue to add value to its petroleum products to meet the automobile demands of the country.
