Ghana Parliament approves 2012 budget

After debating, Ghanaian lawmakers have finally approved the 2012 budget today December 6, 2011.

Read by Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffour, the 2012 budget themed “Infrastructure Development for Accelerated Growth and Job Creation,” was presented in parliament November 16, 2011.

The budget is said to drive the country’s infrastructure.

Accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in its commentary analysis said the 2012 budget sets the stage for Ghana’s growth.

According to the budget, total expenditure for 2012 fiscal year amounts to GH¢17.5 billion.
