He commended the contractors for the work done so far and encouraged them not to relent in their efforts to stick to the time table to ensure that the projects are completed on scheduled.

Mr Neil  Ashurst, Projects Manager, Zakhem International Constructions Ghana Limited said the Gold Coast City is a government project privately funded by various organisations such as the commercial banks and investors to provide a modern city comprising a five-star Kampinski Gold Coast Hotel, residential development, 300,000 square meter of green space, retail offices, and an office tower.

He said the first phase being the hotel is scheduled to open in September 2012, assuring government that the project is on course and would be completed as planned.

Mr Alfred Langdon, Project Architect, ADK Consortium, said the first phase of the UNDP flats project, which is the construction of a three floors six flats, started in November this year.

He said the project at the foundation level is expected to be completed in November 2012.

Mr  Langdon said although work on the sight had moved smoothly, there are still challenges with some tenants who are still occupying the old flats, but gave the assurance that they would be relocated.
