Jomoro District Assembly approves GH¢3.4m as its 2012 financial budget

The Jomoro District has approved GH¢3,467,839.05 as its 2012 financial year budget for its developmental programme.

A greater portion of the budget would go into road construction and development, health, agriculture, sanitation and environment, disaster management and human resource development.

The Assembly passed two resolutions to procure a grader for roads development and construction and to convert its Coconut Plantation at Nuba into a rubber plantation.

This is because the coconut plantation is not giving the Assembly revenue because of rampant stealing from the farm.

Mr Francis Ehwie Armah, Presiding Member of the Assembly in his welcoming address reminded the members of their daunting task ahead of them.

He said the situation where some Assembly members forgot their responsibilities after their election should be avoided.

Mr Armah asked them to frequently meet their people and explain Assembly procedures to them.
