Local Government Minister asks Ghanaians to maintain clean environment
The Minister made the call when he and Nii Armah Ashietey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, led a cross-section of workers in the Tema Metropolis to undertake a clean-up exercise at Abonko, near the Chemu Lagoon at Tema New Town.
The clean-up which lasted about two hours, saw the participants desilting choked gutters.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo reiterated the call on residents in the Metropolis to sustain clean-up exercises in their various communities to prevent epidemics.
He charged the Tema Metropolitan Assembly to employ more labourers to help address the sanitation problem facing the area.
Nii Armah Ashietey, charged the assemblies to lead the campaign on proper sanitation to help improve the health status of residents.
