Effutu Assembly undertakes more development project within two years

The Effutu Municipal Assembly has completed payment of a total of GH¢465,00.00 debt it inherited from the previous administration to some contractors who executed projects for the Assembly.

The projects include construction of classroom blocks with ancillary facilities, teachers’ quarters, office complex and places of inconvenience.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Nii Ephraim, made this known at the second meeting of the assembly in Winneba on Friday.

He said the the Assembly had completed 10 out of the 12 projects and handed them over to the communities and that the remaining two projects, a two-storey building as the MCE’s  residence a three-storey office block complex had reached  advance stages.

Nii Ephraim said the assembly had also completed teachers’ quarters, school blocks and roads.

It has also acquired a Nissan patrol, double cabin 4×4 pick-up and double cabin Nissan 4×4 pick-up vehicles.

Nii Ephraim said such projects have been handed over to beneficiary communities while five of them are at various stages of completion.

On health the MCE disclosed the Central Regional co-ordinating council through CEDECOM have awarded contract for construction of 0ne CHPS compound in the Municipality.

Nii Ephraim said the assembly has to date been able to collected a total of GH¢252,708.00 as against a budgeted Internal Generation Fund of GH¢338,169 for the year, representing 74 percent.

The house later approved its rates and fee fixing resolution for 2012 after lengthy discussions.

It also passed a resolution for the purchase of motto bicycles for the members.
