Woman remanded for robbery
A 34-year old woman has appeared before an Accra Circuit court for allegedly robbing Cemix Company Limited of GHȼ75,000, $310,000 and 110,000 euros at gun point.
Nana Ama Agyeiwaa aka Nadia, a self styled fitness trainer, pleaded not guilty to the charge and the court presided over by Mr Eric Kyei-Baffour remanded her into Police custody to reappear on November 23.
Meanwhile the Police are hunting for her accomplice Osei Kofi, who is accused of absconding with the stolen monies.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Reindolph Agyemang said the complainant Mr Jean Francis Mourad is the Managing Director of the company which dealt in power generating machines.
ASP Agyemang said on November 4, Agyeiwaa in the company of Osei Kofi armed themselves with a pistol and knife and went to the complainant’s office under the pretext of purchasing a generator.
ASP Agyemang said when they entered the office, Kofi pulled out a pistol threatening to kill the complainant and ordered him to lie prostrate whiles he used a cellotape to tie his legs and hands and sealed his mouth, they then dragged him to the washroom and locked him there.
The two then went to the office and took the various sums of money and bolted.
ASP Agyemang said the complainant managed to free himself and alerted his workers who chased the two and arrested Agyeiwaa while her accomplice Kofi escaped with the money.
