Sales boy in court for stealing GHȼ7000

A Tarkwa Circuit Court has adjourned the case of Benjamin Adabo, a sales boy of Handat Enterprise, for selling assorted drinks worth GHȼ7,817.00 and failing to return the money to the director.

Adabo pleaded not guilty and will re-appear before court on November 11.

Police Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that Adabo was employed to distribute assorted drinks to customers of the company in Tarkwa.

He said on February 11 the accused went out on his usual supply rounds with assorted drinks worth GHȼ 7,817.00 but failed to return with the sales he made.

Inspector Paddy said all efforts made by the complainant, Hannah Dantse, Managing Director of Handat Enterprise to locate the accused proved futile.

He said upon a report by the complainant, Adabo was arrested by Police officers at Suame, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region where he admitted the offence and he was sent back to Tarkwa for prosecution.
