Nduom flagbearership campaign launched

Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom

Mr Richard Nii Amoah, the Coordinator of the “Paa Kwesi Nduom Volunteers” (PKN), has called for the need for a vigorous campaign to promote the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) and the Presidential Candidate for Elections 2012.

He said this when he launched the “Nduom for CPP Flagbearership Blue print,” at a capacity building workshop in Accra.

The 10-point agenda on the theme: “Change you can feel in your pocket,” seeks to create a just and discipline society, improve the performance of government, give power to the people for development and strengthen parliament to perform its legislative duties effectively.

Others include the provision of quality education for every Ghanaian child, energy for industrialization and rapid development, better health care and cleaner environment, attack crime, the drug trade and corruption, support Ghanaians in the Diaspora to invest and re-establish residence back home and create jobs.

Mr Amoah urged the PKN Volunteers to reject the notion that the CPP was not a “winnable party or it is a waste of ballot to vote for CPP in elections,” saying that “these are propagandist weapons used by our opponents to discredit the party”.

He said “both the National Democratic Congress and New Patriotic Party know that a vibrant and active CPP is a threat to their campaign, so they have manufactured these stories against the party”.

Mr Amoah said Dr Nduom was a credible, well tested businessman and politician with the capacity to transform the economy, which was demonstrated when he acted as the Minister for Economic Planning and Regional Cooperation from February 2001 to March 2003; Minister for Energy from April 2003 to January 2005 and Minister of Public Sector Reforms from February 2005 to July 2007 all under the NPP government where he led major reforms at all the ministries until his voluntary resignation for public office”.

The PKN Coordinator said Dr Nduom’s background as a former assemblyman, Member of Parliament and Minister of State as well as his sound business background qualifies him to lead the CPP and the nation.
