He said this has instilled some discipline amongst motor bike riders and now it was a common occurrence to see riders wearing their helmets on the roads.
He said as part of the exercise people were arrested for riding without helmets, using motor-bikes without road worthy certificates and using unlicensed motor-bike on the highway.
Superintendent Owusu said he was unhappy with the spate of accidents in the area saying six accidents involving eleven vehicles and six motor bikes were recorded last month leading to the deaths of five people whiles many other sustained various degrees of injuries.
Mr Owusu said the police is very vigilant in the district and would not countenance any traffic violations by motorists adding that the offending drivers would be prosecuted in court.
