Four to contest Asante-Akim North NDC primary

Four out of five persons, have qualified to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primary in the Asante-Akim North Constituency.

The national vetting committee of the NDC found Mr Ernest Stephen Yeboah not qualified to contest the primary.

The four candidates are Daniel Osei Kwadwo, a real estate developer, Ernest Richard Kwakye, and Jude Atuahene, both teachers, and Thomas Osei-Bonsu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

The election has been fixed for November 19th.

Mr Osei-Bonsu and Mr Kwakye are making their third bid for the Parliamentary seat after having twice failed in their attempt.

The NDC Constituency Secretary, Alhaji Braimah Boyong, said the high number of contestants showed that the party had become vibrant and attractive.

He said the area had had its fair share of development under the Mills’ Administration making the party very popular.

Alhaji Boyong said he was impressed with the civil and decent campaign by the contestants and their supporters and asked that this should be sustained.
