Kumawuman rural bank to build GH¢300,000 ultra-modern head office

Dr Kwabena Duffour, the Minister of Finance, has cut the sod for work to begin on an office complex for the Kumawuman Rural Bank in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti Region.

The project which is expected to cost about GH¢300,000.00 consists of a banking hall, conference and board rooms as well as offices.

The job for the construction has been awarded to Messrs Nickseth Construction Company Limited and is scheduled to be completed in 15 months.

Dr Duffour, who is Board Chairman of the Bank, said the construction of the office complex is part of measures aimed at enhancing its operations adding that the Efficiency Monitoring Unit of the ARB Apex Bank has ranked Kumawuman Rural Bank as the 14th out of the 133 rural banks in terms of assets.

Dr Duffour said the bank established 30 years ago, now has nine branches adding that it was the determination of the board to ensure best banking practices.

Mr Samuel Asiamah, the District Chief Executive, lauded the bank for its efforts at helping to fight poverty and assisting small-scale and medium enterprises.
