Former acting General Manager of Ghana News Agency involved in accident

The former Acting General Manager of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Boakye-Dankwa Boadi was involved in an accident at Formenso Junction, near Dadiaso, on the Accra-Kumasi road at the weekend.

He had a cut on the nose with some chest pain and was treated and discharged at the Nkawkaw Holy Family hospital last Saturday.

Speaking to the GNA at the hospital, Mr Boadi said at about 2300 hours last Saturday, whiles driving his Nissan Sunny saloon car with registration number, GT3770T from Accra to Kumasi, he was blinded by the light of an oncoming vehicle and  immediately reduced his speed but his vehicle ran under a stationary articulated truck, which had developed a fault with no warning sign.

He said a good Samaritan sent him to the Nkawkaw Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) to lodge a complaint and was issued with a medical form to attend hospital.

Mr Boadi urged the Ministry of Transport to assist the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) of the Police Service with recovering truck to patrol the country’s major roads to tow all faulty vehicles on the road to safety to reduce accidents on the road.

The police are investigating the accident.
