Hearts of Oak open negotiations with MTN to renew sponsorship deal

Premier League campaigner, Accra Hearts of Oak FC has reopened negotiations with communication giants MTN-Ghana for a possible renewal of their sponsorship deal after the expiration of the previous deal.

Fred Crenstil, Chief Executive Officer of Hearts of Oak who disclosed this to the GNA Sports said his outfit is looking forward to a more improved deal with the communications giants.

“We have a brand and we would make certain demands for the sale of that brand and if they accept our offer, I hope the relationship between us would continue”. Crenstil told the GNA Sports.

The CEO said Hearts would not make a demand based on what others have got from the company but would rather focus on their strengths to secure the best out of the deal.

According to Crenstil, the Club did not appear in MTN branded jerseys in their pre-League friendly game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the opener of the Premier League match against Berekum Arsenals because Hearts did not have any existing contract with the company.

The CEO expressed the hope that Hearts and MTN would agree on a suitable deal to enable the Club renew its relationship with MTN.

Crenstil, however, noted that Hearts are in talks with other companies for corporate sponsorship and was confident they would be successful in the search for more funds to run the Club.

Hearts in the middle of 2011 ended their three year relationship with MTN, which fetched them GH¢4,050,000.
