Regional Minister registers additional 1,500 persons for NHIS

Nii Armah Ashietey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Wednesday completed the registration of residents of Klottey Korley Constituency for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The two-day exercise, which started on Tuesday at Osu and ended at Adabraka, was to ensure that all residents within the constituency benefited from the scheme.

The exercise estimated to cost GH¢20, 000 is earmarked to benefit 2,000 people in Osu and 1,500 in Adabraka.

Nii Ashietey said the exercise was part of a programme lined up for the people this year and the future.

He said the exercise would help create awareness on the importance of the scheme and an opportunity to assist the poor, aged and vulnerable.

Nii Ashietey cautioned the people to be careful about their lifestyle, desist from activities that would endanger their health and be concerned about issues that related to their health.

Mr Lawrence Amartey, Greater Accra Regional Manager of NHIS, assured the clients that their cards would be ready within two to three months.

Mr Abu Pele Bajigah, a beneficiary of the exercise lauded the Member of Parliament for his immense support to the constituency.
