US Embassy to launch 2013 Diversity Visa Lottery Monday

The US Embassy in Accra will launch the 2013 Diversity Visa Lottery Monday October 3, 2011.

The Embassy in an email to ghanabusinessnews.com says the launch will be done at a press conference at the Embassy premises conference to inform the public about the 2013 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery season.

The event, the Embassy says will focus on information regarding the U..Diversity Visa Lottery programme and also discuss implications for DV fraud and the need for its prevention. The conference will feature a Consular Section Officer, it adds.

According to the information, the 2013 Diversity Visa Program (DV-2013) will open at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), Tuesday, October 4, 2011, and will close at noon, EDT, Saturday,
November 5, 2011.

The US Department of State administers the congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Programme, which is conducted on an annual basis under the terms of Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

The annual programme makes visas available to persons meeting the eligibility requirements.  A computer-generated, random drawing chooses selectees for Diversity Visas.  The visas are distributed among six geographic regions, with a greater number of visas going to regions with lower rates of immigration, the Embassy said.
