$166m Fulfulso-Damongo road construction to begin October

Government has finally secured a grant of $166 million from the African Development Bank for work to begin on the Fulfulso-Damongo road in October.

The contract has been awarded to two Chinese construction companies namely, China Habour Engineering Corporation and China Waters Engineering Corporation.

Mr Adam Muntawakilu, West Gonja District Chief Executive, said this when he met members of the Parliamentary Select Committee for Lands and Forestry at the Mole National Park.

He said the contractors for the Project have arrived on site and are presently in Damongo adding that the project is expected to be completed in six months.

Mr Muntawakilu said compensation had already been paid to those who would be affected by the construction of the road adding that the sod-cutting ceremony for commencement of work would be performed in October.
