MTN, the leading telecommunications company in Ghana, on Friday announced the appointment of two new executives.

An official statement named them as Mrs Cynthia Lumor, Corporate Service Executive, and Mr Eric Nsarkoh, General Manager of the newly created MTN Business Solutions.

Mrs Lumor replaces Mrs Mawuena Trebah, who resigned from the company last month.

The statement said Mrs Lumor has extensive legal experience and rich expertise in strategic and tactical leadership.

It said in her role as Corporate Services Executive, Mrs Lumor would be responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership for Corporate Communications and Regulatory Affairs and serve as official spokesperson of MTN Ghana and Executive Director of the MTN Ghana Foundation.

Mrs Lumor will also serve as general counsel, responsible for all legal matters at MTN Ghana.

It said Mrs Lumor joins MTN Ghana from Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, where she was the Principal Legal Officer.

Prior to this, she worked in diverse strategic and tactical positions and functions for more than 18 years with AT&T Inc., a US-based global telecom market leader.

The statement said Mr Nsarkoh would be responsible for leading the team to deliver innovative, robust and cost effective enterprise services and solutions to large, medium sized and small businesses.

“Ultimately he will help strengthen MTN’s proposition for the Corporate Data Management space.”

Mr Nsarkoh has joined MTN Ghana from Airtel where he was the IT Director.

Prior to this, he worked in Senior Management roles in both the IT and commercial environment with Millicom International (TIGO), Discoverytel Ghana, Heineken International, British American Tobacco, KPMG and Price Water House Coopers.

The CEO of MTN Ghana, Mr Michael Ikpoki said: “MTN is happy to welcome these personalities to join MTN to complement the excellent staff we have and to support the business drive of the organisation in Ghana.”

He added: “MTN Ghana will continue to work at its vision of becoming the employer of choice in Ghana as well as delivering on our mission of providing converged telecommunications solutions to all our valued subscribers.”
