Black Meteors suffer defeat in All Africa Games opener

Ghana’s Black Meteors got off their campaign at the 2011 All Africa Games on a losing note after South Africa beat them 1-0 on Wednesday in Maputo.

Substitute Bongumusa Ntombela scored the only goal of the match to hand the Amaglug-glugs a place at the last four.

Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates that Ghanaians will next play hosts Mozambique in the ultimate Group A clash on Saturday at the Maxaquene Stadium in Maputo.

The Meteors must win to seal their place at the semis alongside South Africa.

Ghana failed to progress past the group stage at the last edition held in Algeria in 2007.
