Stakeholders must accept their roles in education – Kumasi Metro Education Director

Mrs Gladys Amaning, Kumasi Metropolitan Director of Education, has called on all stakeholders in education to play their expected roles to help raise the current educational standards.

She said given the importance of education to national development, all must help to create the right conditions for effective teaching and learning.

She said this in an address read on her behalf at the fifth Open Day of Papa Dey Preparatory and Junior High School at Pankrono, a suburb of Kumasi.

She said Ghana could not afford to be left behind and that everything should be done to aid school children to favourably compete with their counterparts everywhere.

Mrs Amaning appealed to the students to study hard to ensure that the huge investments made on them does not go waste.

Mr Frank Y. Bakari, the Headmaster of the school, said the academic performance of students has been very encouraging and attributed this to the high level of discipline among both the children and teachers.

He urged parents to spend some quality time with the children and help to supervise their activities after school.
