37 Military Hospital receives 30 wheelchairs

Reach Bond Foundation, an Accra-based NGO, on Thursday donated 30 wheelchairs to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

It formed part of the NGOs $40,000 Project dubbed, “One Walk One Chair” to support urban and rural community hospitals with wheelchairs for aged patients.

The presentation was the third after donating 80 wheelchairs to Ga West Municipal Assembly and 20 to the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly.

Similar presentations would be made to Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, Achimota Hospital, Police Hospital, all in Accra and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Mr Isaac Twumasi Ampofo, Founder and Executive Director of the NGO, said through research, it realised that some hospitals required wheelchairs to operate efficiently and effectively.

Lieutenant-Colonel Joelina Cole, Acting Deputy Matron of the hospital, receiving the wheelchairs, expressed appreciation to the NGO and gave the assurance that they would be well utilised.
