US-based Ghanaian supports three institutions at Offinso

A Ghanaian philanthropist based in the United States (US), Mr Anim Addo Sampong, has donated assorted items valued at $20,000.00 to three institutions in the Offinso Municipality.

The beneficiaries are; the Saint Patrick’s Hospital, Physically Challenged Action Foundation and Offinso Children’s Orphanage.

The hospital received 500 medicated spectacles, while the Foundation and Orphanage were given second-hand clothes and walking aids.

The items were presented on behalf of the donor by his parents, Mr and Mrs Addo Sampong.

Mr Sampong, who is also the Founder of the Offinsoman Green Team, a civil society organization (CSO), said these were his son’s contribution towards efforts at bringing hope and comfort to the sick and socially disadvantaged.

The gifts were a fruit borne out of his collaboration with Cross Link International, an American NGO.

He encouraged the management of the beneficiary institutions to ensure that the items benefitted those they were meant for.

He invited other Ghanaians living abroad to mobilize resources to support the development of the people back home.

Dr Felix Ahorse of the Saint Patrick’s Hospital, thanked the donor for the gesture and called on philanthropists to adopt some of the wards at the facility and assist them with basic equipment for effective healthcare delivery.
