Jomoro District ECG debunks exorbitant connection fees rumour

Mr Moses Osei, Jomoro District Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has debunked rumours that the company was charging GH¢20 to connect electricity to people’s homes.

He said the current charge is pegged at 58 pesewas and that the GH¢20 was for electricity extension service in communities that needed new power lines.

Mr Osei said this when answering question at the first meeting of the Jomoro District on Friday.

He indicated that, his outfit had invited the Marketing Division of the ECG from Accra to educate the people about the approved fees for connecting electricity.

Mr Osei said come September this year, about 29 communities in the District would be connected to the national electricity grid.
