United Nations supports Bawku cooperative unions

About 25 cooperative unions in the Bawku Municipality have been sponsored by the United Nations Development Fund (UNDF) in various trades as a measure to improve their businesses.

The areas include crop and animal farming, business enterprises among others.

The groups were supported with funds to enable their businesses to grow fast.

Mr. Roland Anyana, Bawku Municipal Cooperative Director, said this during the registration, ordination and presentation of membership certificates to two cooperative unions, Gengande Cooperative and Kulungungu Azangina Onion Farmers unions.

Mr. Ayana appealed to members of the unions to cooperate in order to contribute to the development of their communities.

Mr. Andrews Bukari, the Municipal Chairman of Farmers’ Network Association, said cooperatives must be multi-purpose in order that they might satisfy the needs of their members.
