Retired nurses asked to share experiences with those in active service

Dr Ebenezer Appiah Denkyirah, Director of Human Resources of the Ministry of Health, has called on retired nurses and midwives to share their working experiences with those in active service to enhance health care delivery in the country.

He also asked the retired nurses to establish private clinics and employ nurses to help solve the unemployment problem.

Dr Denkyirah, who was speaking at the launch of the Eastern Regional Retired Nurses’ Association in Koforidua on Thursday, praised the retired nurses for forming the group.

He said that they could be given contracts to work and called on retired nurses in other regions to emulate the gesture.

Mr Duah Oyinka, an official of the Eastern Regional Office of the Ministry, commended the group for their contribution to health care delivery.

Mrs Juliana Owusu, President of the group, said the group sought to promote the welfare of members and to educate the public on sound hygienic practices to avid diseases.
