Two health facilities in Winneba receive $14,000 equipment

The Effutu Municipal Hospital and the University of Education, Winneba Clinic has received assorted medical equipment valued at $14,000 from the University of Virginia, United States of America.

The equipment include thermometers, blood pressure (BP) monitors, refrigerators for storage of drugs, and surgery tools. They also donated some mackintosh.

Mr John Kofi Kussachin, Effutu Municipal Co-ordinating Director, made the presentations at separates ceremonies in Winneba.

He said the donation was part of the benefits from the Memorandum of Understating (MOU) between the Effutu Sister City Commission and Charlottesville City relationship.

The Very Reverend Eldad Bonney, Presiding Member of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, appealed to the authorities to take proper care of the items.

Receiving the items at University Clinic, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akwasi Asabere-Ameyaw, gave the assurance that the item would be put to good use for the benefit of the patients.

Mrs Margaret Eshun, Nursing Manager of the Winneba Government Hospital received the equipment for her workplace.

She commended the donors for their kind gesture and said it would help improve quality health delivery.
