Paul Tawiah Quaye - IGP

The Police Administration on Wednesday expressed appreciation to the general public for their resolve to assist the Police in fighting all manner of crimes especially violent crimes and armed robbery.

A statement issued in Accra expressed appreciation particularly to the citizens of Wassa Akropong in the Western Region and Nsuta in the Brong Ahafo Region for assisting the Police to arrest suspected criminals who attempted to rob on Saturday July 30.

However, the Police Administration entreated the public to desist from lynching suspected criminals and rather hand them over to the Police since the practice of lynching was against the rights of the individuals.

“The Administration is counting on the good people of Ghana to assist the Police in getting the society rid of miscreants since effective and efficient crime fighting is a shared and collaborative responsibility,” the statement added.

It reminded all and sundry, about the availability of the informants’ reward system ranging from GH¢2000 to GH¢20,000 for people who would volunteer credible information leading to the arrest of perpetrators of violent crimes and especially armed robbery.

“The Administration is looking forward for a continuous cordial and healthy relationship with the public in crime fighting,” it added.
