Government commits GH¢3.4m to Goaso, Mim drains

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has granted the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing the authority to commit GH¢3,443,141.24 for the construction of the Goaso and Mim drainage projects in the Asunafo North District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

The amount is being charged against the Multi Sectoral (Social Investment Fund) vote in the 2011 annual estimates.

The Asunafo North Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Mohammed Kwaku Doku, disclosed this to the Daily Graphic after he had received commencement certificate for the projects in Accra.

The MCE said the release of the fund for the projects was good news since people in the two big towns in the municipality had suffered for a long time.
