Foreign based boxing opponents arrive in Ghana for fight

All three foreign boxers scheduled to fight their Ghanaian opponents have arrived in the country for the fight on Saturday, June 25, at the Accra International Conference Center, (AICC) which has been dubbed “Night of no turning back”.

The boxers, Vikapito Meroro from Namibia, Oscar Bravo from Chile and Sidhulele Sidzumo from South Africa, are currently in the country putting up finishing touches to their preparations.

Mohammed Amin Lamptey, Communications Director of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), told the GNA Sports that the arrival of the three boxers is a confirmation of the seriousness attached to the fight.

He said the boxers are credible and well tested and will give their Ghanaian opponents the needed competition, on Saturday on a night under the auspices of Golden Mike Promotions.

Amin Lamptey said the boxers will be introduced formally to the public on Friday, June 24 as part of efforts to convince the boxing fraternity that, the promotions syndicate is out to do serious business.

Meroro will challenge Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko for the World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) Light Heavyweight Title.

Joshua “Bukom Tsatsu” Okine will take on the South African in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter Continental Welterweight title, whilst Bravo and Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe face of for the IBF Inter-Continental Super Featherweight title.

The Night is expected to provide boxing fans with another thriller as it comes with other attractive bouts.
