Vodafone Ghana gets $115m IFC loan

Vodafone Ghana, a unit of UK’s Vodafone Plc, has secured a $115 million loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Reuters News Agency reports.

According to the report today June 13, 2011, the loan is expected to arrive in the country in a couple of weeks.

“The money should flow shortly because Vodafone do need the money quite urgently with regards to expanding their network,” Reuters quoted Mary-Jean Moyo, an International Finance Corporation official in Accra as saying.

The loan is to enable Vodafone Ghana to expand its networks.
