After Ghana’s Music Maestro, Kojo Antwi, was nominated for the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards in 2010, rapper D Black is the next Ghanaian to follow.

D-Black, popularly known as “Yes Boss”, has been nominated in the category of “Best International Act: Africa”.

D-Black will face strong competition from 2Face Idibia and D’Banj both from Nigeria, Angelique Kidjo (Benin), Fally Ipupa (Congo DR) and South Africa’s Teargas.

The BET describes D-Black as “This versatile rapper is known to infuse an assortment of genres (R&B, rap, reggae) into his feel-good jams.”

The award will be held on Sunday June 26, 2011 and would be hosted by Kevin Hart.
