Yaakrom community to get GH¢40,000 modern health centre

The chiefs and people of Yaakrom in Dormaa Municipality, have cut the sod for work to commence on the construction of a GH¢40,000 modern health centre.

The ceremony, which was witnessed by the Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa-West, Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu, and a cross-section of Yaakrom citizens from home and abroad, was preceded by a fund-raising to support the execution of the project.

The MCE lauded the communal spirit of the people of Yaakrom and urged them to extend same to the health project.

He noted that by their act, the people of Yaakrom had demonstrated their support for government’s “Better Ghana” as well as its “Action Year” campaign.

“When general elections are over, it behooves all of us, irrespective of different political affiliations, to lend support to the ruling government’s policies and programmes for our own accelerated socio-economic gains,” Mr Asamoah stressed.

The MCE also announced that 20 more communities in the Municipality have been earmarked to benefit from electricity from the national grid this year.

The MP for Dormaa-West, Mr Agyeman Manu, appealed to communities in the area to rally behind their leaders in the quest to draw development projects to improve their living standards.

The chairman of the function, Baffour Atosi Ababio, who is also the Nsuman-Kwaahene of the Dormaa Traditional Council, called for more volunteerism among the people of Yaakrom towards developments.

The Assemblyman for Yaakrom, Mr Francis Kwadwo Oppong, paid glowing tribute to the management of Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital, the Dormaa-West MP, and the Dormaa Municipal Assembly for their support and direction to the project’s planning committee.

He appealed to the Municipal Assembly to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Yaakrom-Dormaa Ahenkro road, which has been in terrible state for several years now.
