Ho Central MP commends assembly for keeping Ho clean

Captain George Nfojoh (Rtd), Member of Parliament for Ho Central, has commended the Ho Municipal Assembly for maintaining the status of Ho as one of the cleanest municipalities in the country.

“People might not be seeing the work the assembly is doing but at least our streets and gutters are neat. When you travel and come back to Ho, you will see great difference,” he said.

Captain Nfojoh made the observation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the weekend.

He noted that the municipality’s sanitation and hygiene have not been compromised by its growing population.

He said the absence of cholera case in the Municipality following the outbreak of the disease in large population areas in the country attested to the fact that the Ho Municipal Assembly was doing well in sanitation.

Captain Nfojoh, a former District Chief Executive of Ho, noted for pounding stray animals and ensuring cleanliness described sanitation as “very important” in local government administration.

Mr Isaac Kodobisah, Ho Municipal Chief Executive, said more than 75 per cent of the assembly’s revenue goes into ensuring good sanitation.

He said the assembly was securing a permanent landfill site and re-constructing the Ho Central Market with lavatory to boost good sanitation.

Mr Kodobisah praised personnel of Zoomlion Limited for helping to keep the municipal area clean and urged all to be cautious of their personal and environmental hygiene.

Meanwhile, the assembly is placing dustbins at vantage points especially along the principal streets to further improve sanitation in the town.
