England and West Ham United striker, Carlton Cole who has been fined £20,000 by the England FA, says the money should be given to a charity in Ghana.

Cole says he wants the fine money to be given to a children’s home in Ghana.

“Good Morning! As you all know I have been fined for the jokes that I made during ENG v GHA match. I will be asking to donate the money…to a Ghanian charity of my choice, preferably to a children’s charity”, the Daily Mail reports citing Cole’s tweet on April 21, 2011.

He added “Hopefully the money will be going to a good cause…Sorry if I have offended anyone but there was no malice & harm meant. I never knew a light hearted joke would cause so much offence.”
