The source related to the event told ghanabusinessnews.com on telephone that the music star is so far the only international artiste outside the continent performing at the show as negotiations with Rihanna, another R&B singer are still ongoing.
“Ne-Yo has confirmed his coming to 020Live Concert”, the source disclosed Thursday April 14, 2011.
Rihanna has already announced on her official website that she is going on an international tour. She recently rejected an offer to be a judge on the American Idol reality show stating that her international trip will not allow her.
When ghanabusinessnews.com called Vodafone Ghana’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Carmen Bruce Annan on telephone she did not confirm nor deny the information saying only “I am not in a position to comment on this.”
Carmen however said a press conference will be held soon to give details of the event but information gathered by ghanabusinessnews.com suggests that the press conference was supposed to be held on Friday April 15, 2011 but has been postponed.
Instead of the Accra International Conference Centre Dome which hosted the first edition of the event, the source revealed that “this time it will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.”
Recently the sitting capacity of the Dome which is a little over 3,000 has not favoured most event organizers but moving to the Stadium means more logistics are required and the ultimate is the consideration of the weather and good sound quality.
Some of the Ghanaian musicians expected to perform at the event are VIP, Trigmatic, Efya, Tinny and Iwan as well as Jozi of South Africa, the source said.
Last year, Sarkodie, Eazzy, P-Square, Wande Coal, R2Bees, Richie, Ruff and Smooth and 4X4 performed at the Concert.
