AOS to outdoor state-of-the-art machine shop for oil industry

Africa Oilfield Services Ghana Ltd (AOS), a subsidiary of AOSOrwell will on Friday unveil a state -of -the –art machine shop in Takoradi.

AOS operates a joint venture and partnership with international Blue-chip, manufacturers of oilfield equipment, which has made it possible to extend its portfolio and scope.

AOSOrwell is a leading oilfield services company with an excellent track record of providing multiple product lines to the industry, and has provided value added technical services solutions to clients in Nigeria and the West African market since 1985.

AOS Ghana Ltd’s new facility, located at Apowa in Takoradi is equipped with high quality machines, designed for the oil field and engineering industry.

The collection of machines such as the latest CNC lathes and milling machines are designed to internationally recognised and accepted standards to meet client demands.

The facility includes Mazak 14 ½” inch Hollow Spindle CNC Lathe; HASS 10 7/8” inch Hollow Spindle CNC Lathe; HASS CNC Vertical Machining Centre; AMC fully Rotational Bucking Unit; All Ancillary equipment required to process API and Premium Connections; API and Premium Connection Qualified Machinists and Inspection Personnel; Highly experienced company with a proven track record in West Africa since 1985.

Mr Andy Jones Managing Director of AOS said in a statement issued in Accra on Wednesday that “opening this new facility goes to confirm our pledge to invest strategically in the Ghanaian oil industry and to offer a wide range of services”.

“We proudly service the upstream sectors of the oilfield through our specialisation in Drilling and Well Intervention Fishing Services.

“There’s a lot more investment to come from us, this just the beginning. We participated in last year’s oil and gas fair in Ghana and are here again participating in this year’s fair as well.”

Mr Isaac Saforo, AOS Ghana Ltd Country Manager said the opening of the state- of- the- art machine shop has been well received by the industry players who have all along been calling for such a facility in and around Takoradi.

He said AOS Ghana Ltd would at all times strive to provide its clients with the best of services and asked customers to see the company as a committed partner in development.

In 1997 AOS became the first company in Nigeria to achieve ISO 9002 certification through the British Standards Institution (BSI) for its drilling jar division. In March 1998 the certification was successfully extended to all aspects of AOS operations throughout Nigeria.
