Ga State Traditional Royal Family Heads Consultative Assembly is illegal – Council

The Greater Accra Region Security Council on Friday said the “Ga State Traditional Royal Family Heads Consultative Assembly” has no legal or traditional mandate to perform any form of activity.

“The general public is hereby alerted to the activities of the above named Consultative Assembly and requested not to transact any business or comply with any directives from the aforementioned Consultative Assembly. Any person who transacts any business with this organisation does so at his or her own risk.”

In a statement released by Mr F.T. Nartey, Chief Director, the REGSEC said the group had been involved in activities such as the collection of tolls and fees at the market places and lorry parks. It had also been attempting to install Queen mothers, sub-chiefs, family heads and market queens.

“The Regional Security Council wishes to warn the general public that the members of the above named Consultative Assembly have absolutely no legal or traditional mandate to perform these activities,” it said.
