Stop politicizing and the blame games on Dagbon issue – NGO

Global Youth Network Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), geared towards promoting peace, has called for a stop to the politicizing and blame games out of the Dagbon issue.

It expressed worry “about the way the issue was being handled in the North and called for a stop.”

A statement issued by the Foundation and signed jointly by Jawol Bisunna Titus and Jeremiah Salifu, Chairman and Secretary respectively, urged the Government, the Judiciary and the Security Agencies to be fair and neutral in dealing with issues of the North, in order to avoid tensions and violence.

It urged media houses both electronic and print, not to inflame and make mockery of sensitive issues in the North.

“Government and the National House of Chiefs should expedite action on chieftaincy issues confronting the various ethnic groups in the North, so that all families, clans and tribes, who are aggrieved, would be satisfied”.

The statement pleaded with chiefs, youth groups and party factions in the Northern Region to remain calm while appropriate steps and measures are taken to address their grievances.

It assured Ghanaians that the youth will leave no stone unturned to expose any politician, who will want to use the Northern issue for his personal interest.

“The youth therefore want to sound a strong warning to all politicians, who think they can hide under the cover of Northern problems, to cause more troubles to their advantages, to desist completely from that act”.
