Fresh attempt to market Volta Region in the offing

A fresh attempt to market the economic capacities of the Volta Region more aggressively through the information superhighway is in the offing.

“We would find the facts and figures about everything worthwhile about the region, put them on website in such graphic forms that it cannot but be relished by investors,” Mr Charles Robert K Avakame, Project Consultant of White Link Ghana Limited, told the GNA in Ho on Wednesday.

White Link is soon to launch a website with all the information “to serve as a resource centre for anybody needing information on the region.”

Other objectives Mr Avakame said include uncovering “the hidden treasures of the Volta Region, specifically tourism potentials, cultural heritage and investment opportunities”.

He said additionally the site would serve as an “online media house for the region by reporting news and events taking place in the region with pictures and videos for indigenes outside to know what’s happening back home.”

Mr Avakame said in the next few months, information on all tourist wares in the region would hit the net and that tourist arrivals were expected within two years of the project.

He said one of such tourist destinations would be picked every month for highlighting and researchers of the company are on the ground to find more tourist attractions.

Mr Avakame said said the attitude to business in the region must be more enterprising and that the region had not been marketed vigorously enough.

    Bravo Mr. Avakame!
This suggest the importance of federalism. Each region has to come out with strategies to showcase their endowments. I think it is about time this kind of governing from Accra stopped. Everything must be be decentralized.
    Thanks.
