British cult band, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), is set to play at the upcoming IFA summit in Berlin, Germany on September 5, 2011.

IFA is the world’s largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances that is organised annually in Berlin, Germany. This year’s event will be held from September 2 to 7, 2011.

According to the event organisers, OMD, led by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys will perform their latest songs live in the Summer Garden at IFA.

“Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys and band members Martin Cooper and Malcolm Holmes will be performing their latest songs and all the OMD classics on 5 September, live in the Summer Garden at IFA”, organizers said.

OMD are the pioneers of British electronic music of the eighties, which spanned a bridge between alternative music and commercial pop.

Cool techno beat and synthie hymns are a typical feature of OMD’s music.

The group recently enthralled their audiences with the 2010 November tour, with concerts at sold-out venues in Cologne, Hanover, Leipzig, Hamburg and Berlin.

Their new studio album is called History of Modern.
