Tigo Christmas Bonanza Grand Prize winner receives awards

A 62-year-old taxi driver, Mr. Edmund Boateng who won the grand prize of the Tigo Christmas Bonanza has been given his prizes.

Mr. Boateng took home a brand new Mercedes Benz ML and an additional cash prize of GH¢150,000.

Commenting on his fortune, the elated Mr. Boateng said he will use the GH¢150, 000 to build his own house. “As for the car, I am 62-years-old, I am an old man so I will enjoy it myself till I die,” he said.

Mr. Boateng, a native of Kwahu Pepease, urged Ghanaians to take part in the Tigo promotions because “they are authentic.”

The Tigo Christmas Bonanza was a text and win promotion that commenced on November 8, 2010 and ended on February 8, 2011.

According to Tigo, 1,186 subscribers won a total of GH¢570,000 in cash prizes comprising daily, weekly, seasonal (highest texter) and the grand prize.

Everyday 10 subscribers won GH¢100 each, two subscribers won GH¢500 each and one subscriber won GH¢1,000. Over the 13 weeks, 13 people won GH¢10,000 every week.

Two highest texter prizes of GH¢10,000 each were won by subscribers on December 24, 2010 and January 15, 2011.
