President Mills reshuffles Deputy Ministers

President John Evans Atta Mills on Tuesday reshuffled a number of Deputy Ministers and also made new appointments.

A statement signed by Mr James Bebaako Mensah, Secretary to the President, named Mr Aquinas Quansah as Deputy Minister-designate for Local Government and Rural Development as an additional Deputy.

It said Mr Ernest Attuquaye Armah has been appointed Deputy Minister-designate for Communications while Mr Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi and Ms Emelia Arthur have been appointed Deputy Minister for the Eastern and Western Regions respectively.

The statement said Mr Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, Eastern Regional Deputy Minister, moves to the Ministry of Information to replace Mr James Agyenim-Boateng who moves to the Ministry of Tourism.

Mr Mahama Ayariga, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, moves to the Ministry of Education to be replaced by Mr J.S. Annan, currently Deputy Minister of Education.

Mr Kwabena Owusu-Acheampong, Deputy Minister of Tourism, moves to the Ministry of the Interior.

The statement said President Mills had also made the following appointments of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives:

Mr Apraku Lartey (Tano South) and Mr Atta Bosompem (Asunafo South) in the Bring Ahafo Region; Mr Solomon Agyei-Mensah (Sekyere East) and Mr Samuel Asiamah (Sekyere Afram Plains) in the Ashanti Region; and Mr Reginald Asamoah Osae (Kwaebibrim) in the Eastern Region.
