Birim Fire Station endorses fire safety measures

Mr Ransford Ababio Aikins, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Birim Central Fire Station has noted that the adoption of safety measures by the citizenry would help reduce the impact of fire disasters.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region, following a number of fire outbreak in the municipality, the PRO urged businesses in the area to acquire fire certificates from the Ghana National Fire Service before they start operations.

He said the Legislative Instrument (LI 1724, Regulation 2003), made it mandatory for every entrepreneur to do so.

Mr Aikins said his outfit was in the process of prosecuting defaulting individuals and companies who refused to acquire the certificates.
