MTN staff to donate blood on Valentine’s Day

Staff of Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) will donate blood to the National Blood Bank on Monday February 14, 2011 – Valentine’s Day. This donation, according MTN is being done because of a passionate appeal made by the National Blood Bank recently to Ghanaians to help replenish the depleting stock at the blood bank.

In a statement issued by the company and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com, the Acting Corporate Services Executive, Mrs. Georgina Asare Fiagbenu said “For us, the welfare and livelihood of the people who use the services we provide is equally paramount hence the need to give back to society.”

“Valentine’s Day is a day of love and MTN staff recognizing the significance of the day decided to partner with like-minded organizations as well as the general public around the Ridge catchment area to donate blood for patients who badly need it for survival”, the statement concluded.

The exercise would take place at the company’s Ridge Head Office in Accra.
