Coca-Cola to increase investments in Ghana

The leading business brand in the world, and leading beverages producer, Coca Cola says it intends to increase its investments in Ghana beginning from this year.

The company plans to invest between $10 to $15 million in its operations every year, and this year it plans to invest about $12 million in its business of producing and distributing beverages.

Coca-Cola, which operates a bottling plant in Ghana and employs 700 people has local suppliers and local distribution systems in the country, Mr. Phillipe Ayivor, the Public Affairs and Communications Director of the company told journalists in Accra.

He indicated that Coca-Cola sees Ghana as very important to its operations in Africa.

Meanwhile, the Coca-Cola Africa Foundation also plans to invest in the social and economic development of Ghana. The Foundation is investing in water and sanitation, health, education, microfinance and entrepreneurship.

According to the president of the Foundation, Mr. William Asiko, the Foundation will provide water to 300,000 beneficiaries Ghana and he also indicated that the Foundation plans to provide water for about two million beneficiaries in Africa by the year 2015.
