Gyan out, Muntari in, as Goran names Ghana squad for Togo game

Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic has named his squad for the Ghana-Togo international friendly match scheduled for next week Tuesday February 8, 2011, in Antwerp, Belgium.

According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Sulley Muntari and Derek Boateng have been giving a recall to the team after the 2010 World Cup tournament in South Africa.

However, Ghana’s reliable striker and Sunderland player Asamoah Gyan was missing on the list.

Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea’s goalkeeper Ernest Sowah gets a debut call up.

According to the FA, the 19-man squad would represent the Black Stars in the game in Antwerp, Belgium on February 8 as Ghana plays the Hawks in their first fixture of the New Year which would also be Stevanovic’s debut as head coach.

The game would serve as a build up for the Black Stars who resume the qualifying for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations against Congo in March.
